WORKING STUDENT PROGRAM

"Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work.” - George Morris

Riding lessons are a wonderful experience, but there is nothing like being part of the team.  Working Students get to do a lot more than just ride for 45 minutes.  Helping take care of the barn, grooming, tacking, and learning how to train horses along the way takes the skills you might learn in a lesson and multiplies them.  Working Students learn faster, advance quicker, and get a more thorough experience than someone who is only taking riding lessons.

This program can be customized to meet some individual circumstances, but the ideal candidate is not afraid of hard work, is passionate about horses, is not afraid to help and ask for help, and really wants to learn.

Basic Duties May Include:

- Cleaning Stalls

- Grooming Horses

- Tacking Horses

- Assisting with warm-ups and cool-downs.

- Moving and arranging jumps

- Basic Barn Maintenance

Perks of the Program:

- Gaining lots of knowledge and skills from the experience above.

- Riding time (depending on your level and experience, this may be on your own, in a lesson, or a combination)

- Working with multiple different horses

- Education and experience, including the ability to borrow books and magazines

What do you need to do?  Reach out and let's talk about it!  Preferably, be able to come out to the barn at least two or three days a week to start.  In the beginning, you may do a lot of watching and learning before getting super hands on, but it will all be a great learning experience.
